Autumn News 2019

October has arrived and suddenly , it seems, the air has taken on the autumn chill.  My roses, however, which have given me endless joy all summer, are still blooming.  Frost has not yet hit.  The photograph above was taken on Prince Edward Island, the beach of red rock near where I stayed last summer.  It reminds me of New Mexico, and I have similar feelings about both places.  They call forward wild nature, vast silence, and an infinite peace.

This fall, my Wednesday and Thursday Authentic Movement classes are underway.  They will run through the Solstice and then will start back up again in January.  I am offering a Beginning Authentic Movement Series this fall which will begin on Wednesday evening October 30 and run for seven weeks from 6:30-8:30.  This is a wonderful opportunity to try out this form if you have ever wondered about it.  A great group formed already but there is room room for 2-3 more people. The cost is $140.00 for the seven week series.  Contact me if you are interested.

In November, I am offering a Family Constellation workshop.  This will happen on Saturday , November 16 from 1:00-5:00. You can find details in the calendar section of my website by clicking on that date.  This is really important work that cuts through entanglements in the energetic field of the family or system and allows healing and flow to begin or to restore.  It is powerful and it is real.  Often, we are carrying burdens that we cannot resolve because they do not belong to us.  This work deals with identifying and helping to resolve that. There is currently room for two people to present their constellation and have the group work with it and there are several spots open for representatives.  Contact me at jansandman@comcast.net to register.  Spread the word if you know others who would be interested.

I have recently been asked to go to Asheville NC and to Minnesota to offer  Constellation workshops and Authentic Movement workshops, so that may be coming up this winter.

I am always available for individual sessions.  These times are enormously open to change.  The energy is potent and very available.  I am in service to kindness and consciousness prevailing.

May our paths cross.

Summer Newsletter 2019

June , 2019

As we approach the Summer Solstice, I realize that I have not posted a newsletter yet this year and am surprised by that.  The year has been full.  Authentic Movement classes have been powerful and full.  I offered a Beginning class on Wednesday nights during the winter.  It was well attended and a beautiful beginning into the depth of this form.  If any of you are interested in practicing, please drop me a line and let me know.  It is through interest that the classes and workshops develop.

Kelley Hunter, astromythologist and I offered a workshop combining Authentic Movement and  the Astrology of Moving through the Eclipse Portal in the early part of the year.  We are currently planning another offering and the details will be formed soon.

I have offered several Family Constellation Workshops this year and will continue to do so.  These are usually offered on a Saturday afternoon in Montpelier, but not always.  If you have done this work, you know about its effectiveness and mystery in releasing inherited patterns and entanglements in ancestral and family systems.  If you haven’t yet tried it but want to or just want to know more, please give me a call and I am happy to talk about it with you.  I am planning to make some short videos to post that will address certain aspects.  I will post them on my website and on my Facebook page–Jan Sandman: Listening into the Center.  Constellation work can be done in a group and can also be done privately and over Skype or FaceTime.

In August, I will again be teaching at the New England Women’s Herbal Conference.  I will lead three workshops, one regarding Authentic Movement and Moving with the Plants, a Constellation workshop creating a Prayer for the Earth and the third, a Sound Healing Ceremony.   If you plan to go to the New England Women’s Herbal Conference this year, perhaps I will see you there. https://www.newomensherbal.com

Since March, I have been working in a new painting studio and loving it.  I just created a website for my art work and will be adding to it over time.  Here is the link in case you are interested.  https://www.jansandmanart.com

And as always, you can contact me for private sessions.

I wish you all a glorious Summer Solstice.

Spring, 2018

Dear Friends,

Today, I put the  geraniums that had wintered over inside and were in full bloom out on the porch even though it is not yet May. I am ready for Spring, the soft rain, the brightening light, longer days, lighter or no layers needed, the soft ground. My birthday is in April and this rose was centered in a spring bouquet of flowers I received in honor of my birth.  I love all flowers but roses hold a special place as a representation of the layers of love in the heart and soul, layers of complexity, layers of beauty, layers of growth, connectedness, what is open, what remains hidden, what is possible, color, fragrance, patience, softness.  So this rose is inside and the geraniums are outside.  The rose is now receding while the geraniums burst.  Life.

A good friend died this past month…her death fast and holy, like a shooting star lighting up the heavens….bright, bright, bright and then gone.  She leaves in her wake the legacy of the profound ways she touched so many people, her deep faith in humanity’s goodness. And the reminder that every moment matters.

I am paying more consistent attention these days to exploring through painting, appreciating the mystery and delight of the process and how painting somehow has the capacity to reach something in me which then feels completed or expressed by the painting’s existence. I am fascinated by this and by how words are not a necessary part of this completion.  Life beyond language.

Several offerings this Spring and Summer.  On Saturday, May 19th, I am offering a Family Constellation workshop.  These workshops are very powerful and healing whether you come as a representative or as someone who is presenting a personal constellation for the group to work with.  They can clear both specific and universal disruptions in the flow of love that moves through the generations, and in fact moves through all things. The complete description is in the Calendar section of the website.  Just click on the date in the calendar and the full description will come up. Contact me to register, or for more information.

In midsummer, either July 6, 7 or 8, I will be offering a day long Authentic Movement workshop.  Details will follow soon, but do let me know if you are interested and I will be sure you receive a flyer.

This year, I have the honor of  offering an Authentic Movement workshop at the Women’s Herbal Conference on Friday , August 24th.  So many bright beings  come together at this gathering.  Perhaps I will see you there!     https://www.newomensherbal.com

As always, I offer individual sessions, across the dimensions  of what I am versed in, from bodywork to sound healing, family constellations, authentic movement, spiritual clarity, energy work.

Thank you for reading. Let me know if I can be of service or if you would like to register for one of my offerings.

as the spring light shines,

as ever,

Jan

Upcoming Book Reading and Family Constellation Workshop

Dear Friends,
I have recently returned from a magnificent journey through the American Southwest,
spending time immersed in the vastness of the land, the saturation of prayer and reverence for life throughout the area. I am deeply grateful.
Two opportunities have arisen in May for me to read from my new book, White Stones, Bones and Mist:Authentic Movement and Living Prayer. One is on Thursday, May 25 from 7:00-8:30 at the Jaquith Public Library in Marshfield and the other is on Tuesday, May 30, at 7:00 pm at the TW Wood Art Gallery on 46 Barre Street in Montpelier. In both of these events, I will be sharing space with Patty Joslyn, who will read from her new book, Ru min ate: Meditations on Mystical Wisdoms. There will be books to buy if you so desire, or just come and listen. Refreshments will be served.

Also, There are a couple of spaces for representatives in the upcoming Family Constellation workshop on May 20 from 1:00-5:00. If you have tried this work, you know its effectiveness , beauty and power. If you haven’t tried it, but are interested, this is a great opportunity. So much benefit comes from this work for everyone involved at any level. Call me at 229-4671 to register or send me and email.

Authentic Movement Classes Beginning

December 27, 2016,

Dear Friends,

Two opportunities to learn and practice the form of Authentic Movement are happening.

I am offering a 12 week series beginning on Wednesday January 11 from 9:00-11:00 and another 12 week series beginning on Thursday, January 12 from 9:00-11:00.  Both are here in Montpelier.  Preregistration is required.

Authentic Movement is an intriguing deep practice that allows one to access  very deep parts of oneself and develop self compassion and compassion for others through the practice of witnessing and inner witnessing.  I am posting the flyers below.  Please contact me if you want more information or are interested in registering. jansandman@comcast.net

Authentic Movement

with Jan Sandman

Thursday mornings, January  12 through March 30, 2017

9:00-11:00 a.m. at The Clothespin Factory, 1 Granite St.                                                     Montpelier (next to the Iron Bridge)

The cost for this 12 week series is $240.00

Authentic Movement strives for the physical expression of truth in each passing moment, whatever that truth may be. With eyes closed, we find, explore and follow the eternally present impulse, expressing it through movement. By allowing our impulses to lead us, our movement begins to bridge the unconscious to the conscious. Authentic Movement embraces all levels of being from the sacred to the seeming profane, the important to the trivial, the humorous to the tragic, the joyous to the grieving. In practicing the form participants find, in addition to inner discovery, the possibility for a deep inner freedom that comes with true self-acceptance.

In this group, we will explore the essence of the form, the essence of ourselves, employing the mysterious energy of the winter to enter into places in ourselves that are both familiar and emerging. I would like to offer the space for those places to be moved, witnessed and integrated, with the focus being the treasures inside yourselves and between ourselves as a collective.

It is my experience that colors as vibration are a powerful vehicle for intention, prayer and exploration.  Silk as a medium holds this color vibration very effectively.  In this series, I will be from time to time bringing in the vibration of color as a possibility for movers to move with, through the medium of long stretches of silken color.

And so, we will focus on the basic elements of Authentic Movement: the mover and the witness, as well as going into subtle nuances of the form, bringing to it who we are now.

Time is a critical part of the boundary of the form, so please plan to arrive a few minutes early to allow for parking, taking care of the business aspects of the class and are ready to begin at 9:00. Wear comfortable clothing, with no sharp edges (to protect the mat). Take time to consider the concept and presence of your inner witness, the presence or intelligence inside of you that holds space for your life. For some people, it is helpful or illuminating to choose or create an object that personifies your experience of your inner witness. If you would find this to be helpful, please feel free to bring it with you. It could be something from nature, from home, something you find or create—anything that speaks to you of your present inner witness. You may want to have a journal with you as well.

The class is dependent upon sufficient number of participants. Please let me  know by January 1 of your intention to participate. The sooner you can let me know, the better as the groups are dependent upon sufficient participation. If you need to reach me for any reason, you can do so through email jansandman@comcast.net or by phoning 229-4671.  I look forward to beginning again,

Jan
